To design, construct, and drive a robot capable of combating other robots built by colleges across the nation.
In 2009, the Triton Robotix team, guided by world renowned robot builder Donald Hutson, manufactured a steel-framed robot, armored with bulletproof plastic. With an array of weapons and shields, UCSD's very own BattleBots team headed towards the BattleBots arena in Vallejo, California. The robot, named Triton, was pitted against a variety of hardcore competitors. The matches were recorded by professional camera contracted by CBS College Sports, and the BattleBots show will debut sometime in December 2009. Before then, Triton Robotix cannot reveal the match standings, but there is no rule against displaying how proud the team was after the tournament.
2009 was the very first year Triton Robotix ever competed on the BattleBots show. 2010 will mark a whole new era of robot building, so join up!
